My Story

I’m a Colorado native who loves being outside, spending time with my family, cooking, and reading. I’ve always been curious about people’s stories and how we make meaning out of our experiences. Growing up, I loved school and sports. I was perfectionistic and high achieving – which led to the feeling that no matter how hard I tried, it was never good enough. This evolved into feeling like I wasn’t good enough. These feelings of shame, among other things, led to my own struggle with an eating disorder, depression, and anxiety for many years. I realized I couldn’t live that way anymore and sought help; working hard and discovering an inner strength I didn’t know I possessed. I recovered from an eating disorder over 15 years ago and as a recovered professional, I am passionate about supporting others in finding recovery.

I earned my master’s in counseling from the University of Colorado Denver, starting my private practice in 2011. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist. I also volunteer as president of the Denver Metro Chapter of iaedp (the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals) and teach master’s level counseling courses at The University of Colorado Denver. In addition to counseling services, I provide clinical supervision and professional consultation services through my private practice. Below, you’ll find more information about my education, training, and community involvement.
