My Story

Growing up in Colorado, I loved the outdoors, books, school, and sports. I was always curious about people’s stories and the human condition. Through my teen years, I struggled with an eating disorder, depression, and anxiety and through counseling and hard work, I was able to recover and change the direction of my story. At that point, I knew I wanted to dedicate my life to helping others find recovery. I am very passionate about the work that I do and grateful to support my clients on their own journeys.

I earned my master’s degree in counseling from the University of Colorado Denver and started my private practice in 2011. I also began volunteering for The Eating Disorder Foundation and presenting on eating disorders, body image, and recovery at local schools and organizations.

My story took another challenging turn when my husband and I decided we wanted to start our family and struggled with fertility issues for years. Our daughter was born in 2014 and through that journey, fertility and infertility concerns became another area of focus in my practice as a counselor.

I strive for balance in my life and love spending time with my daughter and husband. I still love books, the outdoors, and being active. I am the current President of the Denver Metro Chapter of iaedp (the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals) and teach master’s level counseling courses at The University of Colorado Denver. I also provide clinical supervision and professional consultation services through my private practice. Below, you’ll find more information about my education, training, and community involvement.
